You carry a gun to protect your family.

Concealed carry trainingat your own range

NES is a 4-month concealed carry training program you run at any range. Every session comes with a printable plan, dedicated targets and a standard to hit, so you build the skill for the seconds that matter, and you can measure it.4 months. 4 levels. One standard.

  • At any range you choose
  • For new and experienced carriers
  • Not a permit class

IF IT HAPPENScould you actually do it?

You carry a gun to protect your family. If it ever happens, you will have seconds, and help will be minutes away.

Picture 2 a.m.: a noise in the kitchen, the kids asleep upstairs, and a 911 dispatcher telling you officers are on the way. In New York City, the average police response to critical crimes in progress was 9 minutes 10 seconds in fiscal 2025. In Portland, Oregon, high-priority calls averaged 19.5 minutes in 2025. Until help arrives, you are your own first responder.

Most owners get one short class, if any, and then nothing. In a national survey, 39% of gun owners had never had any formal firearms training. In 29 states no permit is needed to carry at all. And stress makes everyone worse, even professionals: in a RAND study of NYPD shootings, officers hit 18% of their shots when someone fired back, against 30% when no one did.

One permit class and a few range trips a year won’t make you the person who can handle those seconds. Structured, measured training will. That is NES.

The truth is, most gun ownersnever really train at the range

They just burn through money and ammo.

  1. 01Show up at the range
  2. 02Buy a box of 100 rounds
  3. 03Hang a target
  4. 04Shoot
  5. 05Go home

And next time?

Pretty much the same.

No clear goal. No metrics. No way to know if you even improved.

At the gym, nobody would do 100 random reps and expect to see results.

So why do it at the range?

It is not that people don't want to get better. Until now, most gun owners simply had no structured way to do it.

And without a method, it is very easy to confuse shooting with training.

Three myths to let go of

THE MYTH

“I took my permit class. I'm trained.”

THE TRUTH

A permit class covers the legal minimum, once.

In some states that is a short online course, and in many there is no class at all. A skill you never practice fades. NES is the training that comes after the class.

THE MYTH

“I didn't grow up around guns, and I was never military or police. I'll never be really good with a pistol.”

THE TRUTH

Skill is built, not born.

Experience can help, but it is not a requirement. The right drills, repetition and measurement build real skill, wherever you start from.

THE MYTH

“Ammo is expensive. I'd need thousands of rounds to get better.”

THE TRUTH

Volume is not a measure of quality.

A 100-round session with a clear plan does more than 300 rounds fired with no goal. Every NES session tells you up front exactly how many rounds it uses.

We didn’t build NES DEFENSEto be another page of shooting videos.

NES was founded in Israel, at a time when more and more civilians there began to carry. We saw the same gap again and again: people wanted to get better, but almost nobody gave them a structured way to know what to practice, how to measure it and how to progress.

That gap is exactly where NES was born. We built a structured way to train, for people with jobs and families: know what you are working on, what you are measuring and what to improve in the next session. The programs were built together with operators from Israeli special forces units who have fought in active combat. Today more and more armed citizens and ranges across Israel train with our method, and now we are bringing it to the US.

Shooting fundamentals don’t change at the border. Laws do: NES teaches shooting skills, and your state’s carry and self-defense laws are yours to learn from local, official sources.

Our goal is clear.

Raise the standard of the armed citizen.

How does the concealed carry training program work?

From your first session to the STANDARD, you always know what comes next.

  1. Step 1: Log in to your member area

Download the training plan and the dedicated target set for that session.

  2. Step 2: Print it and head to your range

Take the plan and the targets with you and run the session at any range, anywhere.

  3. Step 3: Run it. Measure it. Sharpen your skill.

Every session has clear goals and metrics, so you know exactly where you stand.

  4. Step 4: Each session builds on the last

You never start from scratch. The next session unlocks the Sunday after you mark the previous one done, and adds another layer of skill.

  5. Step 5: Move up a level every month

4 months. 4 levels. At every stage the demands go up, and your skill grows with them.

And at the end of the road, one clear goal:

NES STANDARD

4 levels. Each one builds the next.

LEVEL 11/4

CALIBRATION

First, find out where you really stand.

Set a baseline, measure your starting point and pinpoint the gaps you need to work on.

LEVEL 22/4

CONSISTENCY

One good run is not enough. Now repeat it.

The goal is to turn a lucky result into a skill you can deliver again and again.

LEVEL 33/4

PERFORMANCE

Now the bar goes up.

Take the skill you have built and see whether it holds up when the demands get harder.

LEVEL 44/4

INTEGRATION

Now it all comes together.

Everything you built along the way connects into one system: the standard a prepared armed citizen should be able to meet.

The NES STANDARD is not the finish line.

After the 4 levels, you are not done training. You have earned your starting point for the next stage of NES.

From here you can move on to skill tests and challenges that show you where you stand, and keep raising the bar.

Because you don't earn the STANDARD to stop. You earn it to know where to go next.

EARN THE STANDARD

It is not just us saying it anymore.

More and more armed citizens see the same gap and want a different way to train. When we started talking about training with a goal, measurement, repetition and a clear standard, the conversation started to change.

And they keep telling us:
Finally, someone is talking about this.

But we want to be clear:

NES was not built for every gun owner.

So who is it for?

This is for you if:

  • You carry, or keep a gun at home, to protect the people you love, and you want to know you could actually do it.
  • You took a permit class, or no class at all, and nothing came after it.
  • You want to stop guessing where you stand and start measuring it, session after session.

It is probably not for you if:

  • You are looking for a permit, a license or a certificate. This is not that.
  • You believe more rounds or better gear can replace training.
  • As far as you are concerned, a gun on your hip is enough.

Wait, I have a question...

Concealed carry training, permits, ranges, ammo and more: the questions we hear most

  1. No. NES is an ongoing concealed carry training program you run at your own range. It does not replace your state's permit or CCW course, and it does not give you a license or a certificate to carry. If you want to know what a CCW class covers, we wrote it up separately. It is the training that comes after: once you can carry, it helps you actually get better with the gun you carry, session after session. Always follow your state's carry laws and your range's rules.

  2. No. NES is not a state refresher or renewal class, and it does not count toward any state's renewal requirement. It is structured, ongoing practice you run yourself at your own range. Some states do require training to renew a permit, so check your state's official rules before your permit comes up for renewal.

  3. No. This program teaches shooting skills. It is not legal advice, and it does not give you legal protection of any kind. Learn your state's self-defense laws from a qualified attorney or from your state's official sources.

  4. Yes. You don't need to show up at any particular level. LEVEL 1 exists exactly to find out where you stand and build from there. One honest note: no instructor watches you shoot. If you are brand new, we recommend you also take an in-person basic class with a certified instructor.

  5. You still start at the same point. Not because you are a beginner, but because before you progress through the NES METHOD, we need to set a baseline and measure where you are starting from.

  6. No. You take the training plans and targets with you and run them at any range, anywhere in the world. One thing to check first: many ranges restrict drawing from a holster and rapid fire. Ask your range before your first session, and choose a range or bay that allows what the plan calls for.

  7. No, this is not an online permit course. Online is how you get the plan, the targets and the roadmap. The training itself is live fire at a range. You can add dry-fire practice at home between range days if you like, always with the full safety protocol: unload the gun and check it twice, put all ammunition in another room, point only in a safe direction with a backstop that would stop a round, keep live ammunition out of the session entirely, and reload only after the session ends, saying out loud that practice is over.

  8. 4 months, one level a month: CALIBRATION, CONSISTENCY, PERFORMANCE and INTEGRATION, ending at the NES STANDARD. CORE has 2 range sessions a month, PRO and DIAMOND have 3.

  9. A complete 4-month training plan, printable, with a clear plan for every session. A dedicated set of printable targets for every session. Measurable goals for every stage, so you can track your progress. Your own member area, where you download everything. A short training video for each session (in Hebrew for now, English videos are on the way). Plus two bonuses: a month of coaching support from the NES team, and NES MEMBER for life.

  10. It depends on the track you choose: CORE: up to 200 rounds a month PRO: up to 350 rounds a month DIAMOND: up to 500 rounds a month The goal is not to shoot as much as possible. It is to make every round work for you.

  11. The printable training plans and the targets are in English. Each session also includes a short training video, and right now those videos are in Hebrew. English videos are on the way. Until then, the written plan walks you through every drill step by step.

  12. Each session unlocks on the Sunday after you mark the previous one as done. That keeps a steady pace, and you always know what comes next.

  13. No problem. The plan stays with you, so you can come back to the session and pick the program up where you left off.

  14. No. It is a one-time payment in US dollars that covers all four months of the program, and you can split it into up to 3 payments.

  15. All three tracks follow the same 4 levels and lead to the same NES STANDARD. The right track for you is simply the one that matches how much ammo you usually shoot each month.

From here, there are two ways forward.

You can keep going to the range the way you always have: shoot, go home, and next time start from almost the same place.

Or you can decide that from now on, every session has a goal.

  • Know what you are working on.
  • Know what you are measuring.
  • And know you are getting better, session after session.

You already carry the gun.
You already carry the responsibility.

Now it is time to build the skill that backs them both up.

4 months. 4 levels. One standard.
